    Alexa is the Amazon cloud service that powers Echo, the groundbreaking new Amazon device designed around your voice. We believe voice is the most natural user interface for interacting with technology across many domains; we are inventing the future.

    The team is focused on testing the next generation of voice interaction via our Alexa Mobile App, SDK, and Mobile Accessory kit. You will have an enormous opportunity to further the quality standards across all programs, starting early in the development cycle and continuing through the deployment into customers hands. A successful candidate is experienced, obsessed with continuous quality improvement, and highly committed to creating world class automation.

    Role:
    • Working with business and development teams to understand product vision and requirements.
    • Understanding how all elements of the Alexa ecosystem work together and developing QA approaches that fit the overall strategy.
    • Responsible for development of test strategies and integrating with appropriate test harnesses.
    • Overseeing the development and execution of test plans and monitoring and reporting on test execution.
    • The successful candidate is an experienced but hands-on manager who can build and develop a team and ensure it performs.

    Basic Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
    • 8+ year of industry experience, with at least 3 years as a manager
    • Experience owning end-to-end software quality, including the design and implementation
    • Hands on experience implementing and executing automation of UI and backend services
    • 1+ years experience tracking programs across multiple sites (local and remote teams)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Solid experience supporting mobile app development
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills, tracking multiple test execution cycles simultaneously and communicating out results to key stakeholders
    • Experience working closely with development and business teams to understand requirements and to communicate problem impacts during the development/test process
