We are seeking experienced Hardware Design Engineers to build the next generation of our cloud platforms. Our success depends on our world-class server infrastructure; we’re handling massive scale and rapid integration of emergent technologies.

What you will do: As a member of the Server Hardware Mechanical Engineering team you’ll be responsible for the design of our server platforms. You’ll provide leadership in the application of new technologies to large scale server deployments in a continuous effort to deliver a world-class customer experience. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
· 5+ years of relevant experience
· HW Lab experience: system teardowns, validation testing, and usability/serviceability testing
· In-depth experience in compute and storage server design for large scale applications.
· Experienced in the ability to deliver server hardware products in a multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility environment.
· Experienced in gathering requirements and developing technical specifications
· Demonstrated ability to engage technology developers in the industry to track and apply emerging technologies to innovative server designs
· Cross-functional understanding of thermal/mechanical interactions and mechanical/electrical interactions
· Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects at different complexity levels
· Experience in working with overseas CM/OEM/ODM vendors in product development

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
· 10+ years of relevant experience
· Experience with server development such as high level system and PCBA architecture, system dynamics, DFM/DFA, and thermals
· Understanding of manufacturing processes including sheetmetal, plastics, and die cast, including the ability to estimate part and assembly costs
· Analysis: FEA, Tolerance analysis, Moldflow, and Excel
· CAD Tools: ProEngineer/Creo, Mechanica/Simulate, WindChill
· Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure constraints including networking, power, space, and cooling
· Understand material selections and the impacts of mixing materials in a design
· Understanding of Safety and Compliance topics
· Statistical Analysis
· MCAD/ECAD experience
