Job Description

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated leader to drive the development of Network control plane for one of the world's largest networks. You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of highly motivated software engineers that thrive on solving challenging problems with innovative solutions in embedded software, operating systems, hyper scale and robust control plane.

At Amazon Web Services (http://aws.amazon.com), our goal is to become “The Infrastructure Platform” to the world. Our customers demand the highest quality and reliability, and challenge us to be better, faster and cost effective, every day. Developers all over the world rely on our storage, compute, and virtualized services. As we expand at a tremendous rate across all of our services it is our responsibility to maintain that quality and reliability while driving down costs. We look for innovative ways to automate and scale our testing as we expand, while driving complex issues to resolution.

As the leader of the Network control plane team, you will dive deep to understand Amazon's network architecture, partner with network engineering, peer software teams and other AWS service teams to develop the Network Control plane that power Amazon's network devices. You will own the software quality, availability, scalability, speed of delivery of all new solutions and identify opportunities to invent and simplify the systems used throughout the AWS network. The AWS network continues to grow exponentially and must be ever more reliable. We are reaching the limits of traditional network control plane protocols and you will lead and influence the next generation cloud network control plane development.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to, defining the vision and roadmap for your team, hiring and developing industry-leading talent, program/project management, technology leadership, operational responsibilities for your solutions, and communicating with senior leadership and customers. This is an amazing opportunity in terms of responsibility, interesting challenges and high visibility.
