Elastic File System (EFS, is the newest AWS storage service poised to grow to hundreds of thousands of servers, exabytes of storage, and trillions of files; and we’re just getting started. EFS is a unique service that provides low-latency, shared file system access to tens of thousands of EC2 instances and on-premises datacenter applications. It is a distributed, highly-available, durable file storage service that is fully elastic, growing and shrinking as required. If you have the files, we have the storage!

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, other technical degree, or related experience
  • 4+ years professional experience in commercial or web-scale system engineering
  • Expert skill in a scripting language such as Bash, Python, or Ruby
  • Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production computing environment
  • Linux or Windows system administration or development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in scalable Agile/SCRUM/Kanban enterprise-scale software development
  • Experience with deployment management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Experience with a modern programming language such as C, C++, or Java
  • Understanding of network fundamentals
  • Understanding of distributed storage performance challenges and their solutions
  • Experience with secure system configuration and security principles
  • Ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
