Amazon CloudWatch is AWS’ monitoring service for cloud resources and applications. Thousands of developers and operations engineers use CloudWatch to collect and track metrics, collect and monitor log files, set alarms, process events, and automatically react to changes in AWS resources. CloudWatch is dedicated to building services that make monitoring increasingly easier for our customers, and to deliver those services at massive scale. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager, Technical, with experience building products and creating growing businesses to play a big role on the Amazon CloudWatch team re-inventing how customers monitor their systems and applications.
You will interact at all levels of the AWS and Amazon businesses. If you are successful in this role as a Principal PM, you will have the opportunity to grow into senior level general management and independently run an organization or a business segment.
As a member of the CloudWatch team, you will play a crucial role in driving growth strategies for CloudWatch, collaborating with a group of highly talented engineers to deliver new products and capabilities that have a measurable, incremental effect on our customers’ experience. You should have a thorough understanding of how developers and engineers monitor their systems, servers, databases, logs, events, metrics, and applications. You are keenly aware and curious about the problems users face and are able to articulate a bold vision about how to solve those problems. You bring strong product and program management experience, and are used to frequently working directly with customers and partners to understand their needs from both a business and technical perspective.
You are a business leader who moves fast, exhibits unrelenting tenacity to get things done, and can break down complex problems and make data-driven decisions that best serve customers. You can build consensus and effectively influence senior-level stakeholders. You can lead people via influence by leaning on your excellent written and verbal communications and on your strong problem-solving skills. You have a healthy respect and passion for the problem of building sophisticated systems at massive scale, while also being impatient to deliver solutions for customers sooner rather than later. You take personal ownership over a set of problems and outcomes, make the right business decisions that grow adoption and usage, and tenaciously improve them over time.
You will dive into the product and business details, and will not be afraid of rolling up your sleeves and get your hands dirty to deliver on the experience that our customers expect and deserve and on the business outcomes that demonstrate that we have done our job. You will partner across engineering, product marketing, finance, and other groups to create growth strategies through organic and inorganic investments. You will help us drive market intelligence efforts to formulate the strategic direction of the business, and identify opportunities to adjust and create new business models. You will define the in-market growth strategy and go-to-market plans in conjunction with partner teams including product marketing and business development, and will inform the product positioning, messaging and external communications through deeply understanding target audiences, competition and trends. You will create and track metrics to define the success of initiative and inform future adjustments.
